This week, I had the honor of helping a friend with her cover letter and resume for a job application. I think she's amazing, so it was simple for me to turn a phrase from "I did this thing," to "I am quite skilled at this complicated task and here's my evidence." As we worked, she admitted that it was hard for her to write about herself in such glowing terms. Resumes and cover letters are your time to shine, so if self-promotion is not on your skill list, get some help!
