Dear all

It gives us great pleasure to present to you the proceedings of iPres 2022, the eighteenth International Conference on Digital Preservation, hosted by the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) in Glasgow, Scotland from the 12th-16th September 2022:

iPres 2022 Book of Proceedings

The proceedings are the official record of all the peer reviewed submissions presented at iPres 2022, ensuring visibility and promotion of both academic research work and the projects and initiatives of institutions involved in digital preservation practices.

As you know, iPres 2022 met under the heading ‘Data for all, for good and forever’. The call for contributions invited reflection and debate about how digital preservation can support flourishing communities, ecologies, economies and ideas, and it framed these around moments and ideas from the history of Glasgow. It also adapted the motto of the host city, ‘Let Glasgow Flourish’ with the subtitle ‘Let digits flourish.’

Every paper and contribution which you will find in the proceedings adapts and interprets the iPres 2022 theme, with no shortage of insight, care and creativity. So, while the conference title encouraged delegates to ‘let digits flourish’, the conference proceedings demonstrate, through every page and every paper, that iPres is flourishing too.

The recordings which were made at iPres 2022 will be available to all delegates in December. As a teaser we’ll be sharing the recordings of the three keynotes along with the proceedings today.

We invite you now to read the Book of Proceedings and wish you a Happy World Digital Preservation Day!
