[la version française suit] The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to share translations of two more Technology Watch Guidance Notes from its Data Type series: Preserving GIS<http://doi.org/10.7207/twgn21-16-FR> and Preserving Spreadsheets.<http://doi.org/10.7207/twgn21-09-FR> Now available in French, the Technology Watch Guidance Notes complement the DPC's popular Technology Watch Report series<https://www.dpconline.org/digipres/discover-good-practice/tech-watch-reports>. Each of the Guidance Notes in the Data Type series is designed to provide a primer on the current state of community knowledge about types of data commonly encountered by those seeking to preserve their digital assets. Thomas Ledoux is part of the Cellule Nationale de Veille sur les formats (National Formats Watch Unit), under the aegis of the French association Aristote and its working group on the Preservation of Digital Information (PIN) which provided the French translation, and says: "The translation team continues to explore the notes on new kinds of content to share them with as many people as possible. With GIS and spreadsheets, a whole little-known part of the data finds here a systematic exploration. We hope that these new translations will make you want to take a closer look and acquire a better knowledge of them."
