Registration is now open for the Northern Ohio Technical Services
Librarians’ Spring 2023 meeting. Migration in Motion: Managing Expectations,
will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM, at Cuyahoga
Community College (aka Tri-C) Corporate College Conference Center East,
4400 Richmond Rd, Warrensville Heights, OH 44128. All are welcome;
membership is conferred on all attendees.

NOTSL is pleased to sponsor the following speakers and presentations:

Jennifer M. Eustis, Metadata Librarian at the University of Massachusetts
Amherst, will present “Managing Futures: Working Towards the Future You
Need.” How is it possible to manage expectations that are met by
stakeholders during a migration? Jennifer will cover concepts on managing
expectations and highlight examples of both successful and unsuccessful
strategies at all stages of a migration.

Lori Thorrat, Catalog and Processing Manager at Cuyahoga County Public
Library, will present “Migration, Reimagining Your Library.” Nothing says
change like migration. Migration touches on all levels of staff and causes
you to examine all policies and procedures. Whether you are a single branch
library or a large multi-branch system, migration can be a key to
reimagining your library and how you serve your customers.

Mike Monaco, Coordinator, Cataloging Services at the University of Akron,
will present “Advocating for TS Before and During a Migration.” What can we
learn about advocating for TS in a system migration? We’ll examine the big
picture at OhioLINK and the closeup of the University of Akron as OhioLINK
considers migration.

Robin Buser, Supervisor, Acquisitions & Metadata Services at Columbus State
Community College, will present “Managing an ILS Migration Project Using
Microsoft Teams.” The Columbus State library has started using Microsoft
Teams to manage library projects. This presentation will show how product
management tools will be used for the ILS migration project.

At the Business Meeting (open to all attendees!), officer election and
bylaws revision results will be announced. The candidate statements and
proposed bylaw revisions will be distributed to attendees one week prior to
the meeting. The elections will occur electronically on the morning of the
meeting.

Registration fee, which includes continental breakfast and boxed lunch,
will be $60, or $30 for students and retirees. For all registrations,
please be aware Eventbrite charges a non-refundable processing fee that
will affect the total purchase price.
