Hello all,
Iowa State University is hiring a digital repository unit lead who will guide our well-established repository and oversee three amazing specialists who conduct mediated deposits. The digital repository is on a new open-source platform and is ripe for further integration and development. The repository unit lead will also have the luxury of working within the Digital Scholarship & Initiatives department alongside colleagues engaged with digital humanities, collection development and teaching.
Responsibilities
* Oversees and coordinates the high-level operations of ISU library’s digital repository service.
* Participates in the Scholarly Communication Team and promotes open research priorities and programs through workshops and trainings.
* Builds partnerships and proactively engages with user communities across the university to inform and refine priorities related to open research, scholarly communication, and the evolution of the digital repository service.
* Represents repository services on library and/or institution committees and working groups as well as local, state, and national conferences.
* Supervises a team of staff and students that perform and assist with repository services in support of open research initiatives.
* Oversees the integration of repository systems with other library and campus platforms in collaboration with Library IT.
* Collaborates with librarians and library IT to ensure our digital assets within the portfolio of this position are represented and visible in the library’s platforms and systems for discovery and access.
* Manages ISU’s DSpace repository implementation and development and acts as vendor’s point of contact.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to continue shaping the repository by developing collaborative relationships and cultivating partnerships, promoting repository services as well as make use of a new cooperative digital scholarship and publishing focused space called The Catalyst.
