The ALA Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Libraries Interest Group<https://www.ala.org/core/member-center/interest-groups/artificial-intelligence-and-machine-learning-in-libraries> seeks a chair or co-chairs to serve. The past year has certainly seem some rapid advancements in AI which presents both opportunity and disruption for libraries, education, and society at large. Volunteer to play a role in shaping this conversation!

You must be a member of ALA Core and the term will be for a year beginning in July 2023.  In this role, you will plan future directions and activities, including sessions taking place during ALA Core Interest Week.

The group is a member of Core's Technology section and has the following mission:
Provides a forum for researching potential applications of Machine and Deep Learning in library science, including discussions, publications, and outreach to the wider Library community. Its goal is to educate librarians on uses of the complex techniques of machine learning and to provide a space for critically thinking both about new applications, and about the ethical and social impact of these technologies, as the field rapidly expands in the coming decade.
