It's great that people are conscientious about putting safe info out there.
However, the people scanning codes are the ones who need to worry. Even if
everyone considers you 100% trustworthy, they still have to trust your
security and tools.

I personally avoid scanning stuff because it's clunky enough to break the
flow of the moment, you don't know what you've scanned until after the
fact, and supplemental action is inevitably required.

In contact info sharing situations (uncommon now that it's so easy to
look stuff up), texting works great because it's super easy and both sides
can immediately verify everything works. I can't say I've ever been asked
to scan a QR code from a professional contact.
