DIGITAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
The Center for Research Libraries is a consortium of more than 200
leading U.S. and Canadian academic and research libraries.
Position Purpose
The primary purpose of the position is to facilitate the collaboration
and prioritization required to optimize the outcome of the Center's
Digital Initiatives. In order to achieve objectives incumbents are
responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team effort, across
organizational boundaries. Position plays a key strategic role and has
day to day responsibility for planning, guiding and monitoring the
interface of functional areas, internal and external resources and
personnel contributing to the initiative.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years broadly based academic library operations
experience that includes working across functional boundaries and
managing digital projects. Prior work history and accomplishments must
demonstrate the ability to lead and oversea a team of diverse
professionals including: librarians; bibliographers; vendors,
information system professionals; and information entrepreneurs.
Skills and Education
* Ability to conceptualize, design work-flow and processes
* Ability to assist with financial projections as well as develop
and manage project budgets
* Demonstrated understanding of current issues and trends in
digital library development and management, ideally in the context of a
university setting.
* Superior oral and written communication skill
* Team building and relationship building know-how
* Ability to get work done through others
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to
communicate at all staffing levels
* Thorough understanding of Web enabled applications, digitization
software and equipment
* MLS or MLIS required
