Metadata Coordinator
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Cataloging and Metadata
Services, this position will identify and coordinate the application of
appropriate descriptive, administrative, and structural metadata schemas for
digitized and born-digital materials; oversee documentation, training, and
quality control for metadata projects; work closely with other departments
and units to develop policies and workflow for digital collections; develop
effective strategies for translating metadata between formats and
integrating metadata from a wide variety of sources to improve search and
retrieval within and across collections; supervise the work of 1 FTE
Metadata Specialist and provide training and assistance to others in the
department supporting metadata services; and participate in local, state and
national metadata initiatives, including the Texas Digital Library.
Salary: $44,000 to $48,000 expected hiring range, depending on
qualifications.
