Library Associates Companies seeks an experienced information
professional to coordinate the implementation of a new ILS system
replacing the library's current SIRSI ILS, a system utilized by this
library for over 15 years. This is a highly transactional library that
frequently runs management reports tracking circulation activities, work
productivity for cataloging and processing, as well as bibliographic
reports for other offices in multiple locations that are supported by
the main library.
We require an experienced librarian who will have responsibility for all
the following:
a) Acting as a liaison between the library, SIRSI and the new ILS
vendor.
b) Coordinate the ILS implementation, working with IT and the library.
c) Train the library staff to use the new ILS in each of their assigned
work areas, including public access; (reference & research, circulation,
inter-library loans, collection development ), technical services;
(acquisition of both print and electronic resources, serials check-in,
claiming, routing, cataloging and processing), and Intranet content
development.
d) Coordinate the conversion of the existing databases from SIRSI to
the new system.
e) Oversee loading and testing all data.
f) Troubleshoot and problem solve for all aspects of the conversion and
implementation.
g) Configure and customize reports, OPAC, input and search screens,
administrative, user, and security settings.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in information science required.
* Must have experience in selecting, implementing and installing an
ILS system for a large library operation inclusive of all modules:
acquisition, inter-library loans, technical services, serials,
circulation, OPAC and Intranet/content management.
* Experience in conducting training, creating policies and procedures,
and customized screens and scripts.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively
with all levels of staff and skills sets: from IT, library managers,
catalogers, reference and research staff, administration and contract
officers, library technicians and clerks.
* Must have a clear understanding of project management, and have
experience in meeting deadlines, delivering status reports, and working
with a timeline.

Highly competitive salary commensurate with experience. This a project
position, not a long-term, regular position. We expect this assignment
to begin at the end of April and continue for approximately 6-8 months.
