Hi List Members,
Just a reminder that our next meeting on Wednesday, November 12th from
10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the METRO offices on East 11th Street. We
will follow the same format as our first meeting in September. The
meeting will consist of a series of short (approximately 5-10 minutes)
talks. The talks, presented by area library technologists, will examine
specific area library projects, interesting software, and others issues
in library technology. A brief question and answer session will follow
each talk. Anyone is welcome to present. If you are interested in
presenting please let me know beforehand so we have a general idea of
how many speakers to expect. One agenda item will be a recap of the OCLC
Hackathon http://worldcat.org/devnet/wiki/2008NYCHackathon that took
place this weekend at the SIBL branch of the New York Public Library.
Another agenda item will be a consideration of what types of library
applications can be deployed on the new Google Phone.
All are welcome to attend and/or present; please RSVP to Kevin Reiss at
[log in to unmask] so we have an idea of how many attendees to expect.
If you want to bring something to demonstrate on your laptop, the METRO
facilities will allow you to plug-in to a projector and present.

Regards,
Kevin Reiss
