Summary of Duties:
Coordinates the implementation, deployment, and support of library systems and applications provided by external library vendors to meet the service needs of OSU Libraries; gathers functional requirements and prepares detailed specifications of technology solutions; first line of internal IT support and a key contact for hosted applications; facilitates effective support for systems that cross IT departments; works cooperatively with other internal/external teams on various library projects; develops and maintains documentation for library systems and software; serves as consultant to find and implement (as appropriate) solutions to needs that cross IT departments or involve vendors; provides technical project management and high-level troubleshooting; and responds to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency service calls. Additional Information This is a temporary position up to 6 months.
This position may require a successful completion of a background check.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; strong analytical and problem solving skills; experience managing technology-based projects, people or processes; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and collaboration skills; work effectively with minimal direction and learn new technologies quickly; attention to detail; explore and implement new technologies; understand complex interconnections between IT systems; flexibility to work in a dynamic and evolving area, both independently and as part of a team; and demonstrated ability with object-oriented programming languages: Java, PHP5, VB, C#, C++
Desired Qualifications: Experience in academic library or research university; expertise in systems: III Millennium, Four Winds Interactive, PastPerfect, ILLiad, EZProxy, and other library systems; experience in supervision
Target Salary: $50,562 - $57,098 Annually
