I was also a long time Elm user (using vi as my editor) because I was 
working as a systems administrator where the developer of Elm worked 
(Dave Taylor,  Hewlett Packard) and tried it out when he first made the 
code publicly available.  In fact, I managed the system he used to 
distribute Elm.
