The Missouri Botanical Garden is hiring a Data Analyst to work on the
Biodiversity Heritage Library. The Position Summary is below, along

Summary of the Position:
The Data Analyst will work with stakeholders within the Center for
Biodiversity Informatics and its associated projects to provide content
and data management assistance to the Biodiversity Heritage Library,
Tropicos and other informatics systems at Missouri Botanical Garden.
These projects are highly technical and scientific, as all projects are
related to international sharing of biodiversity data. A primary
responsibility will be providing data management assistance to the
global Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL) consortium, as well as other
international consortia and projects.
Summary of Qualifications:
* B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field required.
* Strong initiative; proven track record of taking ownership of
projects through successful completion required.
* Thorough understanding of bibliographic metadata schemes used
in digital libraries and reference management software applications
(MARC, METS, MODS, BibTex, EndNote). Minimum of 2-3 years' experience
managing bibliographic metadata required.
* Minimum of 1-2 years' experience using XML and XSL, among
other formats, to exchange data between systems or applications.
This position is open for two years only and is dependent upon temporary
funding from grants or contracts. Extension beyond two years is possible
but cannot be assured.
