Code4Libbers,
A few months ago, we kicked around the idea of forming a Code4Lib Mid-Atlantic (aka the Philadelphia and greater Tri-State area) group and conference, and we got an overwhelmingly positive reaction to the idea. Therefore, it's my pleasure to announce the formation of the Code4Lib Mid-Atlantic group. For those interested, I've started a wiki page that can be found here:
http://wiki.code4lib.org/index.php/Code4lib_Mid-Atlantic
As well, as part of our Tech Trifecta week at Falvey Memorial Library, Villanova University, we'll be holding our inaugural meeting on Wednesday, Oct 17th, 2012. Details on the meeting can be found on the Wiki page or the Tech Trifecta announcement included below.
Along with the conference, we're looking for volunteers, not only for the kick-off conference, but for general long-term organizational duties. Positions that we know we need include a social media expert, an IRC guy/gal, and a social functions organizer. We also need volunteers to help us with needs we as yet don't know we need (and feel free to identify them). If anyone interested in volunteering their time, please visit the wiki and add your name to the sign-up list.
Questions? Comments? Excited about an idea that you've always wanted to implement in a code4lib group but never had the chance? Feel free to direct all of your comments and ideas to me at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>. I'm very excited about kicking this off and I hope you join me on the 17th.

Greetings from the Villanova Tech Trifecta Team,
Falvey Memorial Library at Villanova University is proud to announce a series of events, nicknamed the Tech Trifecta, taking place during the week of October 15th, 2012. The three conferences making up the Tech Trifecta week include:
* VuFind Summit 2012<http://vufind.org/wiki/vufind_summit_2012> (Oct 15th and 16th) -- The follow-up to 2010's 2.0 planning meeting will include detailed discussion of the new release and opportunities to network with other VuFind users.
* Code4Lib Mid-Atlantic 2012<http://wiki.code4lib.org/index.php/Code4lib_Mid-Atlantic> (Oct 17th)-- Code4Lib is a volunteer-driven collective of hackers, designers, architects, curators, catalogers, artists and instigators from around the world, who largely work for and with libraries, archives and museums on technology "stuff." The Mid-Atlantic conference is a kick-off for a Philadelphia Area/Tri-State chapter of the organization.
* VuStuff III<http://vustuff.org> (Oct 18th) -- VuStuff is an annual conference on the intersections between technology and scholarly communication. It takes place every Fall at Villanova University's Falvey Memorial Library. This year's conference, VuStuff III, will seek presentations from regional librarians on technology and scholarly communication in their respective libraries. We hope to foster an ongoing conversation among regional libraries, in order to further the development of technology in service of scholarly communication.
If you haven't already signed up for this year's event, I encourage you to do so ASAP as space is once again limited (VuStuff has hit capacity every year it has been held). For details or to register for this year's events, follow the links above or head to:
http://vustuff.org/vustuff/tech-trifecta
As well, we're still accepting proposals for talks at all three conferences. Those who are interested in presenting can sign up for a speaker's slot at:

Thank you for your time and we hope to see you the week of October 15th.
