* Contribute to the Library's programs to maintain access to collected digital information and provide specialist technical advice in the acquisition of born-digital library material
* Develop requirements for systems, tools and workflows related to collecting and preserving born-digital items into the library's collection, and undertaking production release testing
* Analyse the Library's digital collections, preservation aims and levels of access support for the purposes of identifying and planning preservation actions
* This position supports the development of procedures and systems for maintaining access to digital collections, across technological and organisational changes.
A current focus is articulating requirements and prototyping tools and system
components for library staff to collect born-digital publications and
archives, and to plan for their long-term sustainability for access.
You will need familiarity with a range of digital formats and their
dependencies, and understand the concepts, issues and constraints related to
digital preservation. The position demands good analytical skills, as well as
the ability to identify risks and to propose and test realistic solutions. You
will need to be able to acquire new knowledge and skills quickly, and liaise
and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Two positions available. One ongoing and one non-ongoing position. Non-ongoing
contract of 18 months with the possibility of an extension of up to three
years.
