Queens Borough Public Library, a private non-profit corporation located in
Queens, New York, is a national and international leader in the delivery of
public library service. The Queens Library includes 63 public libraries with
1,700 employees.
Currently we have an opening for a Technology/Database Specialist to assist
the Queens Library Foundation (QLF) in its mission of raising funds from
foundations, corporations and individuals for the programs, services and
resources of Queens Library by providing technical support for the
Foundation's online electronic fundraising media and electronic database. This
includes the Foundation's website, social media sites, fundraising software
and electronic database systems. Technology/Database Specialist will
administer and oversee the QLF Donor Database by creating and insuring the
ongoing accuracy and integrity of the donor database in Raisers Edge (RE)
including: appeals, package codes, charts, summaries, tables, graphs, forms,
reports, etc. Integrate RE and Convio with other QLF operations and software
to improve access and usability for all QLF users. Will oversee and maintain
the connection between RE and Convio to ensure the accurate
importing/exporting of constituent information. Audit constituent data and
codes, eliminate outdated information and implement uniform coding in RE to
improve accuracy of data in query and report output. Produce other donor
queries and reports as requested, including quarterly reports, analyses of
online giving, major donors, demographics, cumulative and sustaining, special
event and fiscal year comparisons, etc. Produce queries and reports for all
QLF mail initiatives, including data requests for QLF direct mail vendor,
merges for high donor mailings and acknowledgements, etc. Provide support to
QLF database users including training, troubleshooting, coding and the
creation of custom reports. Execute Honorial/Memorial acknowledgement merge
through Raiser's Edge. Execute notification of gift to individuals designated
by donor. Performs other duties as required.
Bachelor's Degree and (3) years of progressive responsibility and experience
supporting Raisers Edge database programs and utilizing social media,
fundraising software, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, website design & writing
content for websites, blog posts and Facebook posts, including basic HTML &
CSS experience required. Must have in-depth knowledge and understanding of
social media platforms. Excellent interpersonal/human relations/verbal and
written communication skills required. Must be very well organized and have
the ability to prioritize and maintain accuracy. Must be proficient/savvy with
technology and possess an in-depth technical understanding and have the
ability to pick up new tools quickly. All candidates must be in their current
position for at least one year to be considered.
