The University of the Pacific seeks an Electronic Resources/Sciences &
Technology Librarian with energy, initiative, and vision to provide effective
leadership and direction in the provision of library resources and services.
The Electronic Resources/Sciences & Technology Librarian takes a leadership
role in the development of relationships between the University Library and
faculty in Engineering, Computer Sciences, and other natural and physical
sciences departments. This librarian develops productive partnerships with
faculty for the development of programs and services.
Responsibilities: Develops and delivers a range of innovative library services
and content supporting the curricular and research needs of students and
faculty in the sciences, including engineering, computer science, physics,
mathematics, and other natural and physical sciences departments. Coordinates
and manages the process of selecting, acquiring, licensing, and evaluating all
electronic resources, including establishing and maintaining budget guidelines
for electronic resources and for testing, evaluating, and recommending
electronic resources. Manages electronic resources statistical reports and
provides assessment reports for electronic resources. Provides reference
assistance, instruction, and outreach services and selects print and
electronic resources in relevant subject areas. Required: ALA-accredited
master's degree in library or information science. Academic degree in
engineering, computer science natural sciences, or physical sciences, or
demonstrated equivalent gained through experience in an academic sciences or
engineering library. Successful experience managing electronic resources,
delivering education, information, and research services in an academic or
research library.
