South Orange, New Jersey**

Seton Hall University Library seeks an active and engaged Associate Dean to
carry out the mission and vision of the Libraries through work as part of an

University IT and for purposes of internal technology planning, coordination,
and implementation in all areas applying knowledge of trends and emerging
technologies with attention to operational implications and details; gather,

workflows and practices of the Library faculty and its
staff. Firm, patient, professional leadership and
communication are essential, as is consistent follow-through, guided by the
plans, goals, and objectives of the University Libraries.

Under the leadership of a new Dean, the University Libraries recently
completed a new Strategic Plan that in many ways instantiates the University's
academic ambitions and articulates the role the Libraries will play in the
greater social, ethical, and democratic goods that are embodied in Seton
Hall's new Mission and Strategic Plan: to be "at the heart
of Seton Hall's intellectual ambitions and the first source for scholarship
and information where students' needs are the library's top priority, faculty
find the resources essential for their teaching and research, and students
graduate with the realization that the library is
indispensable." With approximately 700,000 volumes and a
robust offering of databases to support over 80 graduate programs (17
doctoral) and a similar number of undergraduate majors, Seton Hall University
Libraries are poised to grow strategically and reshape its services and
collections as an active partner to the exciting developments at the
University.
