Description of Work
Coordinates the scheduling of library use instruction sessions and provides
such sessions; serves as a major participant in the delivery of reference
services; provides advanced instructional and research services for students
and faculty; participates in the creation of print, Blackboard, multimedia,
and web resources; serves as a library liaison to one or more academic
departments; works with the Library's institutional repository. Evening and
weekend hours are required.
Minimum Competencies
Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: Master's degree
from an ALA-accredited school of library and information science with
knowledge of academic libraries and their mission.
Management Preferences
Experience teaching library use instruction and providing reference assistance
in a contemporary, electronically equipped academic library atmosphere;
ability to communicate effectively with different types of library users;
knowledge and familiarity with current technology and software such as smart
boards, mobile technologies, Camtasia, Digital Commons, and CONTENTdm;
proficient in planning, problem solving, researching, and use of technology in
libraries.
