Two fixed term posts available for 24 months, flexible working arrangements
will be considered. Are you a programming graduate? Do you enjoy resolving
technical problems? Do you have the ability to develop creative technical
solutions? Are you looking to work in a rapidly moving field? These posts
offer the opportunity to work in a research-led University in the rapidly
developing area of library systems and web development. We are currently
working on the creation of a new digital content platform meaning that we will
soon have to migrate content, configure connections with external systems and
create/enhance web interfaces for users. You will support some of the Systems
Team's current work but also lead, or contribute to, the team's work in the
area of repository development.
The Library has made the further development of its web presence and its
Digital Library a key part of its strategy and you will play a leading role in
achieving this via the Digital Library platform (ePrints), the Library website
(Jadu CMS), and a range of other web services. You will have a degree or
equivalent qualification and have considerable experience of working in the
field of web systems support and development. You will also have a
comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of web systems and web-based
technologies. You will need excellent problem solving skills and be able to
lead both technical solutions and consultation with other staff in the
University.
