Web Services Librarian - Web Services & Digital Literacy Division

This is a temporary position until December 31, 2013. Edmonton Public Library
is looking for a confident and dynamic Web Services Librarian to join our
team! This temporary position is an opportunity to show that you have the

What we're looking for:

confident? We are looking for someone with a great awareness of best web
practices and a strong understanding of library services, practices and
challenges to help us move forward on several critical initiatives. You will
be investigating, gathering input, assessing, recording, reporting and making
recommendations related to the EPL intranet, website and public computer
booking system. Comfort with technology, focus groups, practical research,
systems analysis, software as service assessments and product evaluations are
key success factors. You will be working in the Digital Literacy & Web
Services group; however, your role will see you dealing with staff throughout
the organization, including our Digital Public Spaces and Discovery interns.
Position reports to the Manager of Digital Literacy & Web Services. At least
two years public library experience is desirable.
Job Requirements:
• Master of Library and Information Studies degree, or equivalent, from an
ALAaccredited institution is required.
What do you need to bring to this position?
• Experience working with web technologies, particularly websites and
intranets.
• Superior writing, communication and collaboration skills.
• Good research and evaluation skills.
• Ability to work positively and effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to work on projects independently.
• Personal commitment to CLA Position Statements on Intellectual Freedom and
Diversity and Inclusion.
Pay Band:
$33.92 - $43.29 per hour*
*Approximately $61,971 - 79,090 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.
Shift differential may apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of
the CSU 52 Collective Agreement.
