Provides leadership and coordination in the library's digital research and
education programs, including creation of digital and new/emerging media
resources, services, and facilities.

Commons Librarian/Head of Research & Education
Essential Duties:
1. Coordinate the physical, and lead the virtual, training/education programs
as integral components to the library's TLR enterprises. Participate in
library outreach and digital education programs and the programs' impact and
effectiveness assessment on campus and beyond. Participate in physical and
virtual research services, including multimedia, bibliographic research,
management, and assistance. Leads outreach training surrounding the library's
growing digital resources, access tools, and other pertinent software. Design,
produce just-in-time Web-based, individualized tutorials, as well as present
and coordinate live online workshops. Train other library staff in this
function. May identify and make recommendations for additional software and
services surrounding our digital outreach and education programs.
2. Work collaboratively on library outreach and digital TLR programs with IT,
ITDP, AMS, CTE, and OAS, and the College's shared/integrated services (iHelp).
Participate in outreach, training, and production related to the libraries'
MediaHub and work closely with the staff in Digital Publishing Services to
create and maintain services. Incorporate library resources into Sakai,
Sharepoint, and other CMS and LMS systems. Teach workshops for faculty, staff,
and students related to use of Library+Commons and MediaHub technology.
Investigate methodologies and best practices for creating, promoting, and
disseminating student-authored digital content and products. Pursue
professional development activities.
3. Coordinate, participate, and assist in all digital research and education
initiatives; including research services, collection (virtual and physical)
management, recommending purchase of database, electronic resources, and
development of Web based instruction materials. Seek opportunities for
outreach to library staff, academic/campus departments, students, the HELIN
Library Consortium, and the broader profession.

Education and Experience Required:
MS in Instructional Design or Educational Technology or MLS from an ALA-
accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and
professional experience; additional graduate degree/s strongly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in research, instruction and education, online/
synchronous, face to face/synchronous, and hybrid, and assessment of
instruction and education programs. Demonstrated expertise integrating
traditional and high-tech services, resources and tools for teaching,
learning, and research; expertise or high-level proficiency with multiple
operating systems and platforms. Demonstrated expertise with and ability to
teach pertinent digital media, publishing, and audio and video tools.
Technological expertise vis-a-vis the vital relationship between the library's
information technologies and services, instructional technologies and media
services, and the technology resources throughout the HELIN consortium.
Demonstrated administrative and project management experience and high
proficiency. Ability to teach others. Solid interpersonal skills. Excellent
communication skills, with collegial and inclusive style. Expertise in
database and internet search and peripherals, including bibliographic tools
and utilities.
