This has been an interesting, albeit somewhat jaw-dropping conversation.

I volunteer to help produce volunteer whatever is needed to provide a generalized and configurable subject guide platform in Drupal that will also provide services to share data between systems. The product of this work will be a Drupal feature and modules as needed.

If anyone has input or would like to help, lets move this conversation to the drupal4lib list.
