* assist in the implementation and administration of the Recorded Information Management Program
* prepare record scheduling (including the preservation of vital and confidential records)
* conduct record inventories
* manage all aspects of the Ministry records schedule collection by developing and maintaining a collection of retention schedules, transfer lists and other records as required
* assist in the preservation of electronic and print documents in the event of divestments, major closures of offices, storage facilities, damage of records (due to flood, fire, or other catastrophic event), etc.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of records management and legislation:
* You have demonstrated working knowledge in records classification systems and techniques and record management principles and practices;
* You have proven ability to apply legislated requirements, directives, standards, guidelines and best practices relating to the identification, description, storage, transfer and preservation of recorded information (e.g. the archives and Record Keeping Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
Analytical and organizational skills:
* You have sound analytical, research and problem solving skills to ensure appropriate application of record management solutions and practices.
* You have good organizational abilities to meet deadlines, work under pressure, manage and prioritize many files concurrently.
Communication and interpersonal skills:
* You are proficient in oral and written communication to obtain and share advice, and to prepare written material for internal and external clients.
* You show initiative, tact and good judgment when interacting with team members, internal and external clients.
* You have the ability to deal discreetly with confidential materials and issues.
* You have developed interpersonal and customer service skills to effectively manage relationships.
* You are able to work independently and also as a team member.
Computer skills:
* You have proven computer proficiency and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Compensation:
$1,115.08 - $1,314.33 per week*
