Web Archives Software Developer/Engineer

Play a key role in ensuring collecting, preserving and providing access to the
web at the Library of Congress. You can see some of the fruits of this work in

developing tools to support web archiving workflows, and
access to and preservation of archived web content at the Library of
Congress.Will involve working with MySQL databases and PHP
scripting. Experience or knowledge of web archiving practices is encouraged
though not required.
This position is located in the Office of Strategic Initiatives at the Library
of Congress, and reports to the director of the[ National Digital Information
and Preservation Program ](http://www.digitalpreservation.gov/about/)(NDIIPP).
The developer works on complex, multi-faceted prototype and production
systems, and assists with software analysis, design, development,
documentation and implementation of these systems. The developer will update
and modify existing Library applications and design new
applications.
This position is elligible for a flextime work schedule and has potential for
telework up to two days a week.This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit
position.
