a passion for Libraries to join a strong IT team in a beautiful new library
building on a great Bay Area campus. Details and application instructions

**Anticipated Hiring Range**  
$4,372 - $5,516 per month ($52,464 - $66,192/annually)

**Position Information**  
Develop and maintain innovative and effective websites, applications,
interfaces, and tools that support the Library's mission. Assist in supporting
the Library webserver(s) and related services. Provide direct technical
support for patrons in the large computer-enhanced study areas in the Library.
Assist with other Library IT tasks and projects as determined by the
supervisor.

  
**Minimum Qualifications**  
Education/Work Experience: Bachelor¿s degree, preferably in
computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience;
at least three years professional experience in designing, evaluating and
maintaining standards-driven websites utilizing HTML/XML, CSS, and related
technologies, developing programs and scripts using languages such as
JavaScript, PHP, Ruby on Rails, etc.; experience providing end-user technical
support for both software and hardware problems, preferably in an academic
setting; working with IT services productivity software such as ticketing,
computer sign on, shift management, and room utilization applications.

  
Knowledge: a strong working knowledge of, and demonstrated
ability to troubleshoot problems with, current Windows and Macintosh hardware,
operating systems, common software applications, scanners, printers,
projectors and copiers; basic foundation of knowledge and skills in
applications programming and systems analysis and related programming support
functions; working knowledge of relevant industry standard applications
programming language(s) and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniques.

  
Skills: communicate clearly with non-technical users as
well as with IT staff in a dynamic team environment where projects and
priorities can change quickly.

  
Abilities: accurately document problems patrons encounter
with Library technology and related services and to effectively communicate
those problems to the appropriate Library staff and faculty.

  
**Preferred Qualifications**  
- Experience with Drupal site-building, theming, and coding modules or equivalent experience with another CMS.  
- Development experience using Omeka, DSpace and/or ContentDM.  
- Demonstrated ability to utilize user centered design methodologies, usability principles, and information architecture best practices and principles in designing sites and applications.  
- Working knowledge of web accessibility standards, creating new accessible sites and remediating older inaccessible sites.  
- Experience troubleshooting AV equipment such as projectors, wireless microphones and DVD players.  
- Experience troubleshooting a sign-on system such as PC Reservation.  
- Experience troubleshooting a pay-for-print system such as UniPrint.  
- Experience troubleshooting digital video and audio hardware and software.  
- Experience troubleshooting specialized academic software such as SPSS and ARC GIS.  
  
**Environmental/Physical/Special**  
Regularly scheduled evening and weekend hours may be required. After hours
webserver-related support may be required when primary web server
administrator is not available. Must be able to work 6-7 hours a day at a
computer. May be required to move or lift 15-45 pounds on occasion.

**CSUEU Position**  
Eligible and qualified on-campus applicants, currently in bargaining units 2,
5, 7, and 9 are given hiring preference.
