Required:
* 2 years experience experience working with large, Library Services Platforms/Systems (Voyager, Aleph, etc.) in an academic setting
* Project management or project management assistance experience
* Experience with survey and assessment tools
Desired Skills and Abilities:
* Deep understanding of major components of Library Service Software Platforms including Circulation, Acquisitions, Cataloging and Discovery Modules, coupled with a knowledge of how such functional components impact on library staff workflows and how associated library data is consumed and interacted with by students, faculty, and university staff.
* Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products - especially Excel
* Comfortable in self-directed environment
* Ability to engage in collaborative work with a wide range of academic librarians and library technologists, helping to translate their goals, objectives, and concerns to the Alma implementation teams.
* Ability to read and interpret technical and policy-oriented documents and contextualize key points to an academic audience.
* Ability to write coherent and succinct status/progress reports to the community of librarians and staff who will working to implement Alma on their respective campuses.
* Strong organizational and communication skills
* Detail oriented, able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and facilitation skills
* Ability to maintain organized and accurate project records/files

Principal duties:
The project coordinator will:
* Work with the Alma Project Director, Steering Committee and Library Service Platform functional teams to develop implementation strategies, details and overall integration issues pertaining to the systems in use to acquire, manage, circulate, and preserve print and electronic collections to library patrons.
* Manage project communications across the UW System to keep key stakeholder groups informed of activities, deadlines, and implementation details. Key stakeholders include library administrators, academic librarians and library technologists on all UW System campuses. The person in this role must be conversant in library practices, procedures, policies and methods to ensure the ability to participate in the creation and translation of strategies and plans to staff throughout the libraries.
* Develop action plans and documentation to communicate how library data, standards, and policies can be migrated into the new library software platform.
* Coordinate accurate, up-to-date reports of project status, scheduling, and planning.
* Take independent action to ensure that functional library teams continue to make progress towards completing tasks within established timelines. Facilitate decision-making within and across all stakeholder groups, for example, use knowledge of library practices and data models to identify problems associated with migrating library data, and then facilitate discussions between library functional groups to resolve data conflicts, cataloging conflicts, etc. that arise as result of the differing data structures in play between these two library systems.
* Maintain project document control and archive project materials
* Help assess, select, use, and train academic librarians and staff on project management productivity and communication tools.
* Set up meetings for the Steering Committee, Implementation Committee and other key stakeholder groups.
* Assist with project cost accounting
* Assist with project schedule management
* Attend and contribute to high level project meetings in which strategy and policies pertaining to this implementation are considered.
