Electronic Resources & Serials Specialist

Lauinger Library is seeking an Electronic Resources & Serials
Specialist. This is a six month Term position, which will
play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Electronic
Resources & Serials Unit. This position is responsible for the receiving,
invoicing and bibliographic maintenance for periodicals, standing orders and
microforms. This includes checking-in materials, updating
and correcting holdings, creating item records for standing orders, physical
processing of periodicals, projecting future dates for volumes, and
corresponding with vendors regarding missing or damaged
items. This position also performs complex, time-sensitive
technical support for electronic resources and helps the Unit with special
projects related to electronic resources. This position
reports to the Unit Head of the Electronic Resources/Serials
Unit. The Unit Head reports to the Head of the Technical
Services Department.
Degree Program (list): Bachelor's degree required. Two
years of experience in an academic library, specifically with acquisitions,
serials and/or electronic resources.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification: Working knowledge of
library operations and experience using an ILS, preferably III's
Millenium/Sierra. Additional knowledge using an Electronic
Resources Management System (ERMS), such as Proquest'sSerials Solutions.
Other Skills: Proven evidence of aptitude for accurate, detailed, and
quantitative work, excellent communications skills, good analytical and
problem-solving skills, and flexibility to work within a changing environment.
