he Museum are looking for a creative software developer
with demonstrable design skills to make a significant contribution to user
experience of the ResearchSpace project, hosted at the British Museum in
London. ResearchSpace (www.researchspace.org) is a highly innovative and
creative undertaking looking to harness the potential of Linked Open Data for
use in a collaborative online research system based on harmonised cultural
heritage datasets. The project will need to develop web tools for semantic
search, annotation, communication and workflow, and deliver a system that is
accessible to academic researchers working in different humanities
disciplines, as well as other interested experts and enthusiasts.
Key areas of responsibility:
Requirements capture from HCI perspective;
* Web application design and wireframing for prototypes;
* (Front-end) implementation of the design, in collaboration with programming team;
* Creation of consistent and intuitive design across supplier components.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have
professional programming experience in a web based environment. The successful
candidate will be able to demonstrable their experience of user interface
design and methods. You will also have professional knowledge of programming
and web standards, methodologies and practices. Good general programming
skills will also be essential to the role and you must be familiar with the
following software programmes:- AngularJS. JQuery, HTML (5), JSON, SPARQL and
JSONLD.
