Purpose
Organize, evaluate, develop and manage Law Library's online information
resources, including the library's web site, intranet, social media outlets,
wikis, and other new web-based services and resources.
Essential Functions
Organize, evaluate, develop and manage Law Library's web site, ensuring
compliance with University policies and integration with the Law School's web
presence. Investigate, evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies to
improve search functionality, navigation, and usability. Collect, analyze and
distribute web metrics and make recommendations for improvement based upon the
metrics. Develop, organize and manage the Law Library's intranet, Sharepoint,
wiki and other internal web-based and networked resources. Investigate,
evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies to improve internal
collaborative work processes and information sharing. Work collaboratively
with other librarians to develop, implement and maintain new web-based
services and resources that enhance the user experience. Develop web-based
services to organize and disseminate information effectively. Evaluate,
recommend and implement applications and API's offered by Innovative
Interfaces for use with the Law Library's ILS. Collaborate with other
librarians to evaluate information and determine content needs for Law
Library's web site and social media outlets. Create content for the Law
Library's web site and social media outlets. Develop instruction and training
for library staff in use of web-based services, content management system,
digital resources, and other new and innovative technology. Supervise part-
time software developer. Work collaboratively with other librarians to develop
Law Library outreach materials, publications and promotional materials.
Provide desktop publishing and graphic design support for those materials.
Represent the Law Library in campus working groups related to web development.
Marginal/Incidental functions
Other related functions as assigned.
Required qualifications
Master's Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited
institution. Experience building and maintaining websites. Substantial
experience using HTML, Drupal, CSS, XML, MySQL/PHP and JavaScript. Experience
with Google Analytics. Experience implementing web accessibility and security
standards. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part
of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform
tasks efficiently and accurately, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with HTML5 and Drupal7. Experience working in an academic library.
Familiarity with user centered design principles. Experience overseeing a
content management system. Experience with Innovative Interfaces's Millennium
or Sierra. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Working conditions
