West Virginia University Libraries is seeking a software
engineer/ Professional Technologist 3.181. This position will be directly
involved with the design and programming of mission critical software
applications for the WVU Libraries. This position will also be required to
work with and maintain Linux servers.
A Bachelor degree, preferably in a field related to Information Science and
Technology or Computer Science. Applicants must have a minimum of 4 years
experience in a systems or computer programming position, working with Linux,
Perl, PHP, Ruby, Python, Javascript, XML, HTML, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
This position requires a strong software engineering background and
understanding.
Additionally, this position will handle incoming support calls and will assist
library staff and patrons experiencing hardware and software problems with
library systems. This position must be able to communicate effectively with
individuals with a wide range of technical expertise.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
