The Technical & Marketing Information Services (TMIS) group provides Analog
Devices' worldwide locations with online access to research and information
resources. We are seeking a Library Systems Engineer to participate in the
development and support of TMIS systems and services across a wide range of
technologies and platforms. Dynamic environment offers
opportunities to be involved in all phases of web applications development and
deployment from initial specs to coding, user interface design, testing, and
evaluation. The ideal candidate takes initiative, pursues
continuous learning, demonstrates interest in new tools and approaches, has a
passion for providing excellent information services to diverse users, and a
collaborative working style.
**Areas of responsibility include:**
Implementing, enhancing, and maintaining TMIS online systems and services
across a wide range of technologies on both on Linux and Windows platforms,
including:
* Custom web development to add new functionality and enhance existing functionality and content on the TMIS web site, such as data repositories
* Updating, customizing, and maintaining the website content management system (currently Content Management Made Simple)
* Maintaining and updating TMIS servers and related hardware as needed
* Updating, customizing, and maintaining usage statistics & analytics tools (currently Piwik)
* Updating and maintaining the ADI forum (currently built on Simple Machines Forum)
* Updating and maintaining Google Search Appliances (GSAs)
* Creating and updating documentation of these systems as needed
Evaluating potential new library systems and tools in collaboration with TMIS
colleagues, particularly providing technical expertise to assess requirements
for implementation and maintenance
Acting as the primary liaison with the IT department and other systems
stakeholders across ADI
**Qualifications**
BSCS (or related degree) with 3-5 years progressive experience in web and
system design and support or equivalent education and experience is required
Experience with both Linux and Windows environments is required
Web design, scripting skills, and software knowledge are essential, including
HTML, XML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and other languages as needed.
Excellent oral and written English-language communication skills are required
Experience setting up library applications such as link resolvers, electronic
resource management systems, and discovery services is strongly desired
Experience with SharePoint APIs and SharePoint Designer is desired
