Oregon State University Libraries & Press (OSUL&P) invites applications for
the position of Discovery Services Librarian, a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month,
Assistant Professor position.
The Discovery Services Librarian will work collaboratively with departments
across the Libraries to provide seamless access to OSUL&P's extensive
information resources and unique collections and to improve the library user
experience. They will recommend custom solutions and designs for library
applications with particular emphasis on the shared discovery platform,
Primo. The Discovery Services Librarian will conduct user
research, coordinate the customization of the Libraries' discovery
applications, extend the capabilities of existing systems and apply their
knowledge of best practices for discoverability of library resources to
improve tools and workflows.
OSU Libraries shares an Ex Libris Integrated Library System with 36 other
members of the ORBIS Cascade Alliance. The Discovery Services Librarian will
represent OSUL&P as a lead on Alliance working groups and serve as OSU's
primary liaison to the ILS vendor, Ex Libris.
This is a tenure-track position. The successful candidate will actively
participate in research, contribute to the university's teaching mission, and
engage in professional service.

The salary for this position begins at $50,000 per year, in addition to a
generous vacation and benefits package.
