Job Summary
The University of Michigan is seeking a qualified User Experience Designer to
play an active role in the software development team in the Digital Innovation
Greenhouse (DIG), a strategic initiative managed by the Office of Digital
Education & Innovation (DEI). Working with the world-class faculty and
students of the University of Michigan, DIG is developing digital applications
that enhance the residential education experience and facilitate engaged and
personalized learning. DIG acts as innovation accelerator, taking good ideas
from innovation to infrastructure, working closely with communities of
practice and learning analytics researchers to ensure their products have high
impact, and finding pathways to enable personalization at scale across the U-M
community and beyond.
Digital Education is a strategic priority for the University of Michigan.
Through curricular innovation, leadership in learning analytics, and digital
infrastructure at scale, DEI aims to transform the way we educate and engage

This new position, focused on user experience design, will operate within a
startup environment. It reports to the Director of Policy and Operations
within DEI, and will collaborate closely with other members of the DIG Team,
including software developers, user community mobilizers, faculty and student
innovators, as well as other academic, technology, and administrative staff at
the University. It will include oversight of user experience interns and close
