ORISE Innovation & Technology Fellowship at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration
ORISE Fellowship available with the Innovation & Technology Solutions (ITS) Team in the Office of Science & Engineering Laboratories (OSEL) at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Seeking a full-time recent graduate to join a dynamic, high performing innovation group of Library & Information Science professionals and technologists at FDA. This is a 12-month position located at the White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Work Needed: The fellowship offers the opportunity to support varied ITS services and research technology products. Gain first-hand experience in project management, product development, digital curation and high-level knowledge services in a federal scientific research setting.
Qualifications: Master's in Library & Information Science or Information Management; strong technical acumen; excellent interpersonal skills; impeccable written and oral communication abilities; demonstrated project management experience; working knowledge of information architecture principles, metadata standards and digital curation techniques. Fellow must be highly collaborative, flexible, self-directed, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Additional preferred qualifications: Knowledge of Agile methodology; passion for innovation and emerging technologies; and a professional interest in 'non-traditional' LIS roles.
Position Information: This appointment is offered through the CDRH Postgraduate Research Participation Program and is administered by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE). This is an educational program and candidates should be within 5 years after graduation. The program is open to all qualified U.S. and non-U.S citizens without regard to race, color, age religion, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, or status as a Vietnam-era veteran or disabled veteran. Salary: This fellowship is posted at the GS 9($52,668) / GS 11 ($63,722) salary level. Program participants will be paid a monthly stipend, commensurate with their experience.
