The NCSU Libraries is seeking applications for the position of Information
Technology Services Manager.
The Information Technology Department includes 22 staff across four units:
Technology Services; Enterprise Operations; Academic Technology; and Discovery
Systems and Applications. The department is critical to the Libraries' success
in charting a new path for research libraries, with an emphasis on developing
and supporting information and academic technology solutions for the
Libraries. Department staff guide the design and architecture of library
applications and infrastructure, provide leadership in coordinating and
defining technology requirements for library‐wide projects and initiatives,
and ensure effective, sustainable operation of information systems and
infrastructure. The department has played a leading role in the creation of
high-tech learning spaces, delivery of rich media, and development of the
James B. Hunt Jr. Library as a research platform.
The Technology Services unit operates the Libraries IT Service Desk and
provides desktop support, network services, communication technology services,
A/V support, and technical training, for Library staff and
patrons. The Information Technology Services Manager
supervises Technology Services unit staff; establishes priorities for the
unit; participates in departmental project management and strategy; and serves
on library-wide committees, task forces, and teams. This position provides
consultations and leads technical solution development for departments across
the Libraries; contributes to the development of the annual IT budget; leads
technology purchasing, processing, and deployment; and oversees inventory and
asset management for hardware and software.
The Libraries offers a highly competitive salary in recognition of applicable
education and experience for this position. Librarians have non-tenure track
faculty status (without levels of rank).
