Web Designer/Developer
Reports to: Systems Librarian
Job Summary
Design, implement, and maintain a responsive CMS-based website for the Lydia
Olson Library. Develop web-based tools, applications and databases. Conduct
a wide range of usability testing and utilize analytics to continually
improve the user experience of the website. Optimize, evaluate, and offer
improvements for SEO. Provide similar support to personnel in other Academic
Information Services units as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Digital Media,
Computer Information Systems, or related fields.
3 years of work experience in web development, programming or related field.
Experience working with PHP and MySQL.
Experience working with jQuery.
Proficient with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Experience using Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience working with programming languages.
Experience working on multiple projects at the same time and the ability to
prioritize and manage those projects to completion.
Knowledge of accessibility and coding best practices.
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of the latest web development standards and industry
trends.
Team oriented with a passion for web development and troubleshooting.
Additional desirable qualifications
Experience working with Drupal or other content management systems.
Experience working with version control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
Experience with responsive and mobile website design.
Ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical way.
