University Archives & Repository Librarian-R. W. Steen Library, Stephen F. Austin State University-Nacogdoches, TX
This is a tenure-track, 12-month faculty position responsible for soliciting and processing university archival materials from university faculty and staff, colleges, academic units and alumni. Coordinates the digitization and ingestion of the East Texas Research Center (ETRC) and community archival materials for inclusion in the digital archives repository. Manages the processing of archival collections in all formats (text, image, audio and video) to facilitate access. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a security-sensitive position. Reports to the director of the East Texas Research Center.
EDUCATION: Master's degree in library science from an American Library Association-accredited institution is required.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Three years of related experience is required. An individual appointed to the rank of Librarian II should have the demonstrated capabilities to be an effective and productive librarian and a contributing member of the academic and general communities as evidenced by substantial job accomplishments and participation in professional library organizations or professional service to the university or the community.
