Manage the software engineering function for Stanford’s digital library, within the Digital Library Systems and Services (DLSS) unit of the University Libraries. Directly manage a large team of software engineers for full-stack digital library infrastructure and the LOCKSS project; oversee the department-wide engineering practices. Work with architects, senior technologists, product management and operations staff to help define, implement and sustain engineering efforts to meet business requirements of both environments. Have primary responsibility for shaping and delivering best practices in software development methodologies, overseeing engineering staff, and participating in the software engineering and design decisions for key systems. Participate and contribute to multiple in open source software projects. Stanford’s efforts on these fronts are recognized internationally, and have a major programmatic impact on the University’s operation and that of libraries worldwide.
