What You'd Do
Work downtown at the Central Library contributing to the development and
maintenance of Denver Public Library's evolving range of digital services,
including its websites. Use strong UX design sensibilities as a front-end
developer to create digital experiences that help people be better people.
Play a critical role in helping the Digital User Experience team build
world-class digital services for a world-class library. Foster effective
communication with a variety of end users in order to build
customer-centric digital experiences.

Knowledge of current front-end design patterns.
Knowledge of responsive design; delivering content to different devices and
platforms. Knowledge of UX research and testing.
frameworks and libraries such as Angular, Ember, Node.js, React, jQuery,
CSS, Sass, HTML5, JSON and/or other XML standards.
Skill in using visual design skills with a focus on crafting user
Skill in communicating with a wide variety of audiences with a wide variety
of technology abilities and needs.
Ability to contribute to a team focused on turning UX insights into
Ability to use decoupled environments using data from APIs to craft dynamic
Ability to create UX documentation (user flows, wireframes, paper

Two years of professional experience working with interactive/web
A Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science, or a related
field, or equivalent education and work experience.
Experience working on teams using Agile project management frameworks like
Scrum (preferred, not required).
Experience in the mobile app development space (preferred, not required).
Experience with Drupal (preferred, not required).
Experience with Web accessibility standards (preferred, not required).
Experience using Google Analytics (preferred, not required).

A typical day might include a standup meeting with team members, focused
work coding a design change that improves a user flow, walking a group of
front-line staff through some prototypes, and collecting, documenting and
communicating what you learned.
Although the full salary range for this position is provided, offers depend
on qualifications and typically do not exceed the midpoint. The City and
County of Denver benefit package will be offered.
The schedule will be determined by the needs of a department that
encourages a healthy work-life balance and will rarely ask for hours to be
worked outside a normal workday.
