Description:
In July, this year COUNTER will announce Release 5 of the COUNTER Code of Practice. This webinar will cover the four Master Reports which are the foundation of Release 5. It will explain the new metric types and related attributes and we will look at the new simplified report formats. Finally, we will discuss COUNTER SUSHI for Release 5 and the time for transition.
Speakers:
Lorraine Estelle is the COUNTER Project Director. Launched in March 2002, COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources) is an international initiative serving librarians, publishers and intermediaries by setting standards that facilitate the recording and reporting of online usage statistics in a consistent, credible and compatible way.
Lorraine is experienced in the information industry with a background in libraries, consortia, shared services, vendors and publishers. She has managed and conducted a wide range of projects, with a particular interest in new business models for electronic information resources and has directed the development of a number of UK national shared services including Jisc Collections and the Journals Usage Statistics Portal.
Oliver Pesch works as a product strategist for EBSCO Information Services where he helps set direction for EBSCO’s SaaS and e-resource products and services. Oliver is a strong supporter of standards and is very involved in the development of standards related to usage. He has been involved with COUNTER since the outset serving on the Executive Committee, the Technical Advisory Group and, most recently, serving as chair of the COUNTER board.
He is co-chair of the NISO KBART Automation Working Group and also serves on the NISO board of directors. Oliver speaks regularly about usage and e-resources and is a regular contributor to Serials Librarian through his Spotlight on Standards column.
NASIG is an institutional member of Project COUNTER.
