I think our issue is taking off of the reading list part, which we manage in a reading list manager, and try to manage other parts of the syllabus in a similar way - outside of the same old word document.
When implementing the RL manager some of the feedback was that this is only a partial solution - not covering other aspects of the syllabus like class description, plan or requirements - and that those still need to be managed "the old way" without much integration with information systems as it's still a pdf/word document.
Maybe the solution is more in the realm of document management or managing semi structured information than library systems.

My hobby-horse is data that helps users choose from many books/resources to choose what are the most recommended. I'd love to have syllabus data across many institutions to identify these. So I applaud this idea.
