The J. Paul Getty Trust is currently hiring a manager within is newly unified imaging department, Getty Digital Imaging. We would like to invite you to join the management team that is bringing together the imaging departments of the Getty Research Institute and the J. Paul Getty Museum to service the needs of all the Getty programs and their users. The advertised position will manage the staff and workflow of the Getty Research Institute imaging team, which focuses on the digitization of materials such as books and archival documents as well as art works. In addition, as the department grows, we will begin to invest heavily in technical imaging (e.g., 3d and spectral) in both hardware and expertise. Reporting through the office of the Chief Digital Officer, this position is one of two studio managers, both of whom report to the Imaging and Digital Media Architect. We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual with management experience and technical ability and library or archive experience is preferred, although not mandatory. Our goal is to continue to be a leader in the field of cultural heritage imaging and we are looking for the right person to help shape that vision.
