NEDCC Digital Preservation Program Update
Coming this Fall:  Two great programs to help you to learn more about caring for and preserving digital collections.
*****************************************************************************************
DIGITAL DIRECTIONS: Fundamentals of Creating and Managing Digital Collections
October 15-16, 2018
Atlanta, GA

ABOUT:
A two-day intensive educational conference covering best practices and practical strategies for the creation, curation, and use of digital collections. A comprehensive introduction to digitization and digital preservation.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Whether you are just getting started in digitization and digital preservation, or trying to bring several projects together into a cohesive digital preservation program, the Digital Directions conference is geared toward professionals working with digital collections at archives, libraries, museums, historical organizations, government agencies, corporate archives, and other organizations that steward digital collections. A discounted student rate is available.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: October 6

BUILDING THE COMMUNITY: A Digital Preservation Symposium
Exploring research, assessment, and practical experience in a participatory meeting
November 9, 2018
Boston, Massachusetts

ABOUT:
Join a small group of colleagues from a range of organizations for a day of discussion about the state of digital preservation practice and the National Digital Stewardship Agenda. With a focus on digital preservation program assessment, the day will include case studies and research data gathered from the digital preservation environment in recent years, facilitated participation among attendees, and panels of practitioners and service providers.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
If your institution is caring for digital collections of any kind or size, this meeting will be a unique opportunity to share your knowledge and experience and to learn from colleagues working on similar challenges. If you conduct research or assessment in the field of digital preservation, or are a funder of preservation projects and initiatives, this meeting will provide an in-depth exploration of current practice and challenges faced by stewards of digital collections.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: November 2
