I have one question for the contributors of this thread..
Could you please tell us regarding the availability and/or feasibility of
Polygon search option in interactive map based retrieval of documentary
resources?
We are using VuFind (an open source discovery system) combined with
openstreetmap as map provider and Leaflet as java script library for
interactive map. It provides geographic search interface with zoom in/out
option and draw search box function to select range of geo-coordibates to
retrieve resources related to specific geographic space. The documents
indexed by using 034 tag of MARC 21 bibliographic format.
But the draw search box option allows selection in the map in square or
rectangular shape. It seems polygon selection is a better option but that
feature not yet available in VuFind.
