Reporting to the Director of Library Technology, the lead Library Web Developer is responsible for front-end development and maintenance of the Drupal-based UGA Libraries website(www.libs.uga.edu), maintenance of several departmental websites that utilize various content management systems (such as WordPress or Omeka) or plain HTML, and supports the Lead Developer in creating, maintaining, and extending a variety of web applications and scripts to support the work of various departments within the library. This work can be collaborative, but is also self-driven, and necessitates working with stakeholders and users to develop requirements.
The Web Developer is also responsible for understanding and analyzing information systems requirements of the Libraries in order to anticipate needed enhancements. This process involves evaluating systems, making recommendations for improvement of workflows, presenting findings, and participating in development and implementation activities.
The position may be involved in after-hours support, both onsite and remotely, for the resolution of emergencies as they arise.
