The position will start immediately for 2 years and could be renewed for
more 2 years depending on the performance.

The Post Doctoral Fellow scientist in this position will participate in the
research project and develop innovative experiment on data science, related
to data management and data analysis, based on deep learning-based modeling.

The Post Doctoral Fellow scientist will work with Prof. Pedro Luiz
Pizzigatti Correa, Prof. Jean Ometto, Profa. Katia Maria Paschoaletto
Micchi de Barros Ferraz and PhD Solange Santos (SciELO) to
develop data science experiments, publish research papers, supervise
students, and conduct outreach and educational activities on the research
project.

Applicants should have a PhD in computer science or related areas such as
computer engineering, information technology, or statistics with an
academic research track record in big data analytics, machine learning,
deep learning, or statistics. Demonstrated programming skills in machine
learning and deep learning and demonstrated proficiency in both written and
spoken English are required. Experience of writing proposals and/or
supervising students is desired.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected
candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of
BRL 7.373,10 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of
the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly
related to the research activity.

The Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli/USP) has over a
century of history, forming generations of engineers who have excelled not
only in their professional specialties, but also in the political life of
the Brazil and in the administration of companies and businesses and public
agencies. Founded in 1893, the so-called São Paulo Polytechnic School was
incorporated into USP in 1934; Today it is a national reference and
considered the most complete engineering college in Latin America.

The Polytechnic School is located at Cidade Universitária (Campus São
Paulo, Capital). There is regular public transportation from the Campus to
Metro Station (Metro Butanta). São Paulo, Brazilian vibrant financial
center, is among the world's most populous cities, with numerous cultural
institutions and a rich architectural tradition. Its iconic buildings range
from its neo-Gothic cathedral and the 1929 Martinelli skyscraper to
modernist architect Oscar Niemayer  curvy Edifício Copan. The
colonial-style Pá¡tio do Colégio church marks where Jesuit priests founded
the city in 1554.
As Post-Doc, the Poli/USP offers a vibrant work environment and a workplace
