Hi,
Looking to the past with Licklider and the report he wrote for ALA may be a good place to start: https://www.worldcat.org/title/libraries-of-the-future/oclc/917396523&referer=brief_results
Have seen some videos on YouTube: https://youtu.be/jSfdG_45iqA and especially this one https://youtu.be/aMWDnvRBKiw indicating that artificial intelligence and machine learning will be utilized in many future ILS products.
Just some future thoughts.

Subject: [CODE4LIB] ILS Consultant Recommendation
Hello!
We're interested in hiring a consultant to help us do some visioning work
around the future of our ILS/ LMS, and also to do an environment scan of
the ILS market and help make recommendations about whether it makes sense
for us to move to a new ILS, and if so, what good options might be, based
on the visioning work. Has anyone worked with a consultant you would
recommend on this type of project?
Thanks!
