JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides on-going development, process analysis, support, and administration of the CLEVNET integrated library management software.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Master’s degree in library and information sciences is required.
Experience:
2 to 5 years’ experience with scripting languages at an advanced level; with library management software; and with relational databases and API’s is required.Supervisory experience: NA
Technical Expertise:
Experience working in libraries is required.
Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
Experience in public library, public-sector, and a union environment is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:
Develops scripted routines for analyzing system data and automating processes in the integrated library management software.
Recommends solutions, conducts system testing and troubleshooting , and implements service changes.
Develops processes and applications for the integration of system data with third-party or locally developed systems.
Designs, implements, and maintains web applications/utilities developed in a variety of scripting languages and interfacing with data sources from a variety of relational database platforms.
Creates reports of system data, monitors performance, and validates data integrity.
Works with library staff to identify areas of process improvement. Recommends and modifies existing configurations and routines based on analysis to meet library service need.
Provides technical support to CLEVNET staff using integrated library management software and other applications related to library operations.
Identifies and resolves problems with integrated library management software, working with the provider of the software when necessary.
Develops scripts and produces reports to support library operations including reporting on bibliographic, patron and transaction data.
Assists in planning, configuring, and executing upgrades of integrated library management software.
Tests new applications of integrated library management software.
Recommends changes to integrated library management software, policies, files, and practices.
Designs and develops training curriculum, content, and materials for CLEVNET staff; conducts in-person training sessions and administers training program.
May assist library staff in performing computer functions.
May assist public service staff to address patron computer needs related to Library operations software.
Performs other duties as assigned.
